The Menace is a demon from the video game Dawn of Sorrow. After having copied Soma Cruz's power of dominance, Dmitrii Blinov conquered many souls of demonic beings. Confidentaly, he prepared to battle with Soma Cruz for a last time, but because his ability to absorb monster souls was not a true gift, but a copy of one, the souls within him merged together, forming a single gigantic demon --- Menace --- which exploded right out of Dmitrii's body, killing him in the process.
The battle against the Menace is fought in two different parts; for the first part, the creature appears to be a random collection of fleshy shapes and organs surrounding Soma, the only weak spot is a facial figure implanted on what would become the Menace's 'knee'. Soma must attack this spot while avoiding downward/upward blades and poison gas. During the second form, the Menace stands up, revealing itself to be a colossal humanoid creature. Soma must damage the other knee's face, as well as a face that grows inside Menace's mouth, which is protected by teeth when its mouth is closed.

Absolute Playstation International - Review by Steve, 76%. This game isn't terrible, just not great. ... By level six I was struggling to keep my eyes open and playing it to the end was a real chore.

Active Network - PC review by Byron Hinson, 76%. The Phantom Menace was clearly rushed onto shelves for to coincide with the release of the movie. It is very unfortunate as I feel that a few extra months of coding could have turned an average game into a pretty good one.
CNN - Review by Andrew S. Bub. There's little adventure and little action to be found.
Meta Description: [ . The title is the same as the film's, and the story follows the film's closely. But is this an adventure game in the proud Lucas tradition of Monkey Island and Grim Fandango, or is it something else? It's definitely something else. ]

Games First - PC review by Greg Matthews, 3/5. It's a shame that a title offering players so much possibility as a sort of hybrid gaming experience ends up being such an average product.

Glide Underground - PC review by Michael Ahlf, 4/5. While it isn't the greatest game in terms of replayability and accessibility, I'd certainly suggest the game for anybody who likes games that don't require extremely tedious hours to beat.

Pixel Fiction - Playstation review by Earl Green, 2/4. Oh, what a frustrating game ... The game is played out from a strange kind of Steadicam-hovering-somewhere-overhead perspective, and the movement can become quite distracting, almost dizzying at times.

Science Fiction Weekly - PC review by Victor Lucas, B-. Plagued with bugs and enough quirks to give stone-faced Qui-Gon Jinn a nervous tic, The Phantom Menace CD-ROM is still fast-paced and smart enough to keep players glued to their computer chairs.

The Electric Playground - PC review by Victor Lucas, 7/10. As a game, The Phantom Menace takes its cue straight from the movie; it's fun but it's far from perfect.
