"The Adventure" is a song by Angels and Airwaves. It appears on the band's first album, We Don't Need to Whisper, and was the band's first single, also being the first full song to be heard by fans.

On February 3, 2006, a preliminary version of the song was leaked through the Internet. It lasted five minutes and forty seconds and showed the band's previously stated style and departure from previous works. Listeners described the song's Edge-like guitars and '80s synths sound like a cross between The Alarm, and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me-era Cure, with Tom DeLonge's trademark blink-182 vocal harmonies and guitar melodies on top. It gave the listener a very clear idea of what direction the band was taking. The song was widely distributed on many fansites and MySpace pages. The song that has been released for broadcasting on radio stations is in fact a different version from the leaked one: gasping that was evident after each line on the leaked version were removed.

On February 8, in a Rolling Stone interview, when asked about this song, DeLonge said: "The song was inspired by a friend whose marriage was kind of falling apart. It touched me so deeply that I was up one night crying for him -- I felt so hurt." *
