Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is a computer game developed by Oddworld Inhabitants for both the Sony PlayStation and PCs.

Abe's Oddysee is the first part of the Oddworld quintology, a series of 5 games which are based on the planet of Oddworld. Although the series were originally intended to be films the developers saw fit to change to game development. The Oddworld series aims with each game to reveal another small part of the Oddworld planet, although we understand that only a small part of Oddworld will be revealed even with the quintology complete. Oddworld Inhabitants have promised that with each member of the quintology a bonus game will be released.

Abe's Oddysee was released in October 1997 as the first part of the Oddworld quintology, this was a time when game developers were more increasingly using 3D graphics, however Oddworld Inhabitants decided to make Abe's Oddysee one of the few 2D based games released that year, something which the game is famous for. In the game the player explores a large number of "scenes"; usually screen-sized areas containing platforms, objects or characters. The player runs along various flat platforms, solving puzzles/problems etc. Prerendered 3D graphics are placed on the platforms in front of a 3D background.
