Mass Effect is an RPG being developed by BioWare exclusively for the Xbox 360. It is scheduled to be released winter 2006/07 and is the first installment of a planned trilogy. The game takes place in the year 2183, and the main character is an elite human soldier named Commander Shepard. Set 200 years in the future in an epic universe, Mass Effect places gamers in a vast galactic community threatened by forces from within and without. A new type of game from well known game developer BioWare, Mass Effect challenges players to lead a squad of soldiers as they struggle against threatening armies to restore peace to the galaxy. The story revolves around an ancient alien prophecy that says every 50,000 years machines come to this galaxy to harvest all organic life, and the time is coming again. As the first human Spectre – sworn defenders of galactic peace – your mission is to halt the advancing armies of a legendary agent gone rogue. But as you lead your elite team across hostile alien worlds, you will discover the true threat is far greater than anyone imagined.
