Backyard Soccer Major League Soccer Edition was the first Backyard Sports soccer edition game to include the MLS. It debuted in the year 2001 and grew child popularity to the league. Since the game was made in 2001 it included the soccer clubs of Tampa Bay Mutiny and Miami Fusion, it also was made when soccer club FC Dallas was called the Dallas Burn. It didn't include the relocated San Jose Earthquakes, as the Houston Dynamo. This game didn't include the new brand new MLS soccer clubs of C.D. Chivas USA or Real Salt Lake. The sequel game was Backyard Soccer 2004.
